Village Justice

John G. Pieper has been a resident of Upper Brookville for over 35 years. Together with his wife of almost 50 years, he raised three children, each of whom grew up in the Village, graduated from Friends Academy, and went on to become practicing attorneys.

Judge Pieper has served Upper Brookville continuously for over 20 years first as Associate Village Justice and currently as our Village Justice.

Immediately upon graduating from law school, Judge Pieper served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Since his honorable discharge from the Army, Judge Pieper has been and continues to be a practicing attorney. During his career as an attorney, he served for seven years on the NYS Ethics Committee, as well as on the NYS Bar Associations Committee on Legal Education and Admission to the Bar.

In addition to practicing law, Judge Pieper is a consultant to and an adjunct professor at several area law schools where he prepares law school graduates for the bar exam. He has successfully sat for the bar exam and been admitted to the bar in over 30 states.

Judge Pieper earned his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and his LL.M. from NYU School of Law.
